Trump’s DOJ Goes Full Dictatorship Mode—Because, Of Course

Just when you thought America couldn’t sink any lower, Donald Trump’s DOJ is here to remind us that yes, in fact, it can. In what can only be described as a MAGA fever dream come to life, Trump’s Department of Justice is at war with the FBI, trying to purge agents who had the audacity to investigate his supporters’ little patriotic field trip—also known as the January 6th insurrection.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, in a country where the justice system is supposed to function independently, Trump is trying to bend it to his will like a wannabe mob boss cleaning house. And what’s the DOJ’s priority under Trump?

Fixing real crime?

Strengthening national security? Nope.

It’s making sure that FBI agents who investigated the very real attempt to overthrow the U.S. government are removed. You know, because loyalty to Trump matters more than upholding the law.

The acting FBI director is reportedly resisting Trump’s DOJ demands to hand over a list of agents involved in January 6th investigations. Why? Because even he knows what’s coming next: mass firings, political retaliation, and a full-scale dismantling of law enforcement’s ability to hold Trump’s cronies accountable.

But Trump’s DOJ doesn’t care about justice—it cares about revenge. Two lawsuits have already been filed by anonymous FBI agents (Jane and John Doe), citing First Amendment violations, 14th Amendment violations, and basically every other constitutional right that Trump thinks only applies to his people.

If these agents are fired en masse, we’ll officially have a Justice Department operating not for the country, but for Trump’s personal vendettas.

If you thought Trump’s obsession with pardoning January 6th rioters was just empty political posturing, think again. Former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and other insurrectionists—who should be sitting quietly in a prison cell—are now allegedly influencing government policies. Yes, you heard that right. The very people who helped orchestrate an attack on the U.S. Capitol are now part of the decision-making process in Trump’s government.

Apparently, not only did these guys get a “get out of jail free” card, but they’ve also taken to social media to name specific FBI agents—the same agents who had the audacity to investigate their crimes. Because nothing screams law and order quite like pardoned felons helping the government hunt down the people who held them accountable.

Trump’s DOJ has already triggered multiple lawsuits in Washington, D.C., as career officials fight to keep their jobs and stop the DOJ from becoming a personal hit squad. But let’s be real—this is exactly what Trump wanted. He doesn’t just want to fire people; he wants to humiliate them.

He (Trump)  wants a loyalty test where the only acceptable answer is blind devotion to him, not the Constitution.

For years, Trump has screamed about being the “law and order” president. Turns out, his version of law and order looks a lot like authoritarian rule—purging law enforcement officials, silencing dissent, and replacing real justice with political loyalty. The FBI is supposed to be independent, but Trump is doing everything in his power to turn it into his personal police force.

And let’s not forget the bigger issue:

If Trump succeeds in purging the FBI and replacing its leadership with MAGA loyalists, what happens next? Who investigates Trump and his allies when they inevitably commit more crimes? (Spoiler alert: No one.)

This isn’t just about one FBI director or a handful of lawsuits.

This is about whether America will have a functioning justice system or a political weapon wielded by an orange-tinted autocrat who still believes windmills cause cancer.

The fact that actual insurrectionists now have a say in government decisions should be the loudest alarm bell yet.
