The world’s smallest chef prepares a delicious dessert. Bon appétit!
Playful remarks aside, this is an interesting 3D mapping proof-of-concept.
Designed by SkullMapping, an artistic collective run by Filip Sterckx and Antoon Verbeeck, Le Petit Chef is a performance projected onto your empty dinner plate and its environs as you wait for your meal.
It features a funny little animation of a tiny chef stepping out of a manhole and preparing your meal himself. Antics abound, as the minuscule culinary master converts your plate into a grill, chops down a broccoli tree, pulls up fresh digital potatoes, and faces off against his fly nemesis.
Skullmapping is a boutique animation studio based in Belgium. An artistic collective run by Antoon Verbeeck and Filip Sterckx By using 3D projection mapping techniques, and a profound artistic knowledge, they tell stories with stunning bespoke visuals and deal with art in an experimental, technology-related way.
